Are you a flexible and experienced primary teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support local schools in Portsmouth? We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Primary Supply Teacher to join our pool of supply staff, starting in January 2025.
About Us:
We work with a range of primary schools in Portsmouth that are looking for reliable, adaptable, and passionate supply teachers to cover planned and short-term absences. As a supply teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of year groups and educational settings, making a difference in students’ lives while enjoying the flexibility that supply teaching offers.
The Role:
As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for managing the classroom, and supporting students’ learning across a range of subjects. You will step into different classrooms, ensuring continuity in learning and providing a positive and supportive environment for children. The role offers flexibility with the potential for regular work across several schools in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across the primary age range (EYFS to Key Stage 2).
- Ensure the smooth running of the classroom, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement.
- Adapt to different school environments and classroom settings quickly and effectively.
- Provide feedback on student progress to class teachers and school leadership.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure the needs of all students are met.
- Manage classroom resources and ensure the classroom is well-organised.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in primary schools (desirable but not essential).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage children in learning.
- A flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching.
- A professional attitude and the ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
