Position: Supply Teacher

Start Date: January 2024

Duration: Flexible, short-term and long-term placements available

Are you a passionate and flexible teacher looking for the opportunity to work across multiple secondary schools in Tameside.

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Supply Teacher to cover short-term and long-term absences across a variety of secondary schools in the Tameside area starting after the Christmas break.

This role offers the chance to work in dynamic and supportive school environments, providing you with the flexibility to take on diverse teaching assignments across different subjects and year groups. Whether you’re looking for occasional work or a more consistent role, we have placements that will suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging lessons to students in various subject areas, ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • Liaising with school staff to ensure smooth transitions between lessons and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with secondary school students (ideally in a supply teaching capacity).
  • A flexible, proactive approach to teaching and classroom management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Availability to start after the Christmas break.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
