An inclusive school committed to supporting every student in achieving their potential is looking to recruit a Student Wellbeing Mentor.  Fostering a supportive environment where all students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. They are looking for a passionate and dedicated educatorto join their team, helping them nurture a school culture that values diversity, respect, and resilience.

As a Student Wellbeing Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face challenges that may affect their engagement, behaviour, or academic progress. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents, you’ll provide guidance and support to help students overcome barriers and achieve success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about student welfare, inclusion, and social development to make a meaningful difference in young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted one-on-one or small group mentoring sessions with students to support their personal, social, and academic development.
  • Build positive relationships with students who may be struggling due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents to create individualized support plans for students.
  • Assist students in developing strategies to manage their behaviour, emotions, and social interactions.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes respect, understanding, and inclusivity within the school community.
  • Monitor and track student progress, maintaining detailed records and reporting to relevant staff as needed.
  • Contribute to the school’s overall inclusion strategy by participating in meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Experience in a similar role or a background in education, youth work, psychology, social work, or related fields (desirable).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
