On behalf of a group of Primary Schools in the York area, we are seeking enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistants to support various classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work both 1:1 with individual pupils and to support entire classes, depending on the needs of the school.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will vary to meet the diverse needs of the students and the school. You will:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access the curriculum and feel settled and confident in the classroom.
- Work with students who may be working below expected standards, offering encouragement and tailored support to help them excel.
- Assist the class teacher in setting up and delivering engaging classroom activities.
- Support pupils who may display challenging behaviour, using your skills to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking individuals who are ready to start as soon as possible. To be considered for this role, you should have:
- At least 5 GCSEs (A* - C), including English and Maths.
- Experience working or volunteering in an educational or childcare setting.
- A confident, outgoing, and nurturing personality.
- A genuine desire to support the social, emotional, and intellectual development of each pupil within the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
