Job Description: Sport Teaching Assistant

Location: Secondary Schools across Newport

Contract Type: Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Overview:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sport Teaching Assistant to support children in the classroom using sports and physical education techniques. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about sports and want to make a positive impact on students’ educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support - Assist teachers in delivering lessons and supporting students in various subjects, with a focus on integrating physical activity into learning.
  • 1:1 Support - Provide individualized support to disengaged or challenged students, ensuring they receive personalized attention and guidance to thrive academically and socially.
  • Utilising Sport Methods - Employ sports techniques and methods to engage students, enhance their learning experiences, and foster a love for physical activity.
  • Behaviour Observation - Identify and observe positive behaviour methods that can be reinforced in students, contributing to a productive classroom environment.
  • Emotional Support - Offer emotional support to students, helping them develop personal and social skills necessary for their success in and beyond the classroom setting.
  • Promoting Physical Exercise - Encourage physical activity and promote a healthy lifestyle among students by incorporating exercise into the school day and fostering a positive attitude towards fitness.

Requirements:

  • EWC Registration
  • Enhanced DBS (child only) and registered with the Update Service (we will help with this process)
  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
