Job description

Sport Learning Support

Cardiff CF14

Pay £12.90 per hour £83.85 per day

I’m collaborating with a school in Cardiff dedicated to supporting students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and am looking for energetic, sports-minded staff members eager to broaden their skills and experience within an educational setting. Any previous experience with Additional Needs—whether professional or personal—is highly valued, as it will help you adapt quickly and contribute effectively in the classroom.

This school serves students aged 7 to 19, so it’s important to build strong rapport with both students and colleagues. Familiarity with the Welsh curriculum will be beneficial, as it will aid in supporting students in their lessons. If you have a background in sports or athletics, I’d love to connect and discuss how this could be an asset in the role.

Learning Support Worker Responsibilities:

  • Helping students stay engaged and involved in all sessions
  • Applying suitable strategies to manage challenging behaviour as needed
  • Participating in training sessions and relevant courses to enhance your skills

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • An Enhanced DBS check and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An understanding of the developmental needs of children, including those with disabilities or challenging behaviours
