Job description

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Roehampton, Greater London 
Salary: Competitive, depending on skills, experience and qualifications 
Hours: Full-time 

Teaching Personnel have a wonderful opportunity to work with a fantastic specialist school based in Roehampton. 

Our client school is a school for young people aged 9-19 with mild to moderate autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated learning difficulties. 

They are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and passionate specialist speech and language therapist to join their team. 

The successful candidate will work closely with other speech and langauge therapists and other professionals providing support to students; reporting to the Therapy manager. 

The role is flexible and can be offered either full-time or part-time for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments for new and current students to determine the scope, level, and nature of their individual Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) needs.
  • Plan and lead group or individual sessions, ensuring activities and interventions align with the students' needs and the provisions outlined in their Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Oversee and manage an assigned caseload, ensuring services are delivered within agreed timelines and meet the SaLT requirements specified in each student's EHCP.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including case notes, digital files, and related documentation; regularly prepare and present progress reports.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to address individual needs, while contributing to the analysis and reporting of data for research and audits.
  • Independently manage workload and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • You will be a registered member of RCSLT and HCPC
  • Hold BSc Occupational Therapy or profession specific equivalent qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
