Job description

Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: The school (SG8 postcode) is easily accessible by car from Royston, Buntingford, Letchworth, North London, Cambridge and surrounding areas.

Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent - after a successful period, all candidates will be offered the opportunity to become permanent by the head teacher.

Salary: £85 - £105 Per Day (depending on experience)

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday - Please note that due to the needs of the students, we are unable to offer flexibility for part-time staff members.

 

We are currently seeking full-time Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team and support students in SEN Schools located in Meldreth (Hertfordshire). Please see below for further details.

Our client school currently caters to students aged 5-19 with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

 

 

Role responsibilities: 

  • Be crucial in supporting students with their learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
  • Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
  • Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
  • Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues; the values of the school and demonstrate these in all aspects of the role
  • Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

  • Educated to at least level 2 (or equivalent) Maths and English

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
