Role: Caretaker

Salary: Dependent on experience, Negotiable
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent
Start: January 2025 (sooner is desirable)
A highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and proactive Caretaker to join their Outstanding all-through school located in Ilford. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school premises are clean, tidy, and well-maintained at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and painting.
- Oversee the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking facilities as required.
- Assist with set-up and dismantling of furniture and equipment for school events.
- Conduct regular inspections of the school grounds and facilities to identify and report maintenance issues.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with school policies.
- Support the Health and Safety Officer in maintaining a safe environment for all.
- Liaise with contractors and external service providers as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a caretaking or maintenance role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to undertake physical tasks and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with good time management skills.
- Basic DIY skills and experience in general maintenance tasks.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS check will be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
