Teaching Personnel are currently working with schools in the Northampton area to find tutors for primary aged children that are outside of mainstream schooling for a variety of social, emotional and mental health needs. The children will be working at levels below average for their age group, and require experienced and patient tutors to help them progress with their work.

These tutoring sessions would be tailored to the individual needs of each student and would be delivered within a home setting/ community setting e.g. Library.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting one-to-one tutoring sessions during school hours
  • Assessing pupils’ strengths and weaknesses and developing personalised learning plans through this
  • Creating engaging and interactive sessions for students
  • Providing detailed and constructive feedback for students, teachers and parents

For these roles you should

  • Have a teaching qualification or extensive tutoring experience for primary ages
  • Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum for different age groups
  • Have excellent understanding and practice surrounding safeguarding
  • Have experience working with students that have possibly challenging behaviour
  • Understand EHCPs and how these should be followed when planning lessons and learning for different students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
