Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant

 

Peckham

 

Full-time, Term Time Only

 

£85 - 100 per day PAYE

Are you interested in working in an Ofsted rated Outstanding SEN School in Peckham, South-East London?

 

We are seeking individuals who are empathetic, pro-active and passionate about working with children with special educational needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school dedicated to providing a warm and nurturing environment for children aged 11-19 with diverse needs, including Autism, SLD, and PMLD. Based in a brand-new building in the heart of the community, the school is ran with the values of 'Learning Everywhere, Inspiring Everyone'. The school has been designed to promote the development of life skills, creativity and independence with wide, open spaces. This includes a variety of fantastic interactive rooms such as an incredible hydro-therapy pool and fantastic physical exploration room with large floor trampoline and interactive light and sound projection.

 

What you can expect as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

 

• Providing 1-1 and small group support to students, tailoring activities to individual learning styles

 

• Participating in a variety of creative activities, from arts and crafts to sports and music.

 

• Working with teachers and therapists to create an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere.

 

• Encouraging independence and life skills development in students.

 

• Facilitating sensory-based and play-based learning experiences

 

• Assisting with personal care and maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
