Our Outstanding Ofsted rated school in Yeovil is seeking a full time teaching assistant to join our team in September. 

We cater for Primary, Secondary and Post 16 children who have profound and multiple learning disabilities. Our Schools ethos is providing a happy and secure learning environment for our young people. We pride ourself in supporting our young people's self-esteem. Osted noted that our children love coming to school and it is a place where they can thrive. 

About you:

You will be a caring person who has experience in the care sector or experience in working with children with SEND. You will be a person who can adapt to challenging situations and think outside the box. You will be keen to promote our ethos and create a happy space for our young people. Any experience working with people who communicate non verbally will be advantageous. 

The role:

This position will involve creating the best possible environment for our young people to blossom in. This involve providing small group and 1-1 support for children in line with their EHCP/ Care plan. The pupils may need support with personal care and feeding. We promote communication via a range of methods, including verbal, signing Makaton and use of PECS. You will be given support and training to work with our complex pupils.
