Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Secondary School, Stockport

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)

Salary: £420 to £450 per week.

About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Stockport. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in their learning activities, both in the classroom and during extracurricular activities.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers regarding individual achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and fostering an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s education.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
