Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southampton
Job Type: Full time
Salary: £12.90 P/H
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual Support: Provide tailored support to students with SEN, assisting with their learning, social interaction, and personal development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
- Classroom Assistance: Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
- Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students’ progress, reporting back to teachers and parents as required.
- Adapt Resources: Modify classroom materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with students, parents, and other staff members regarding individual needs and progress.
- Professional Development: Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to SEN.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training).
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in an educational setting.
- Understanding of various types of SEN and effective strategies for support.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet changing student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
