Job description

Are you passionate about making a real impact in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)?

Teaching Personnel is currently partnering with schools in the York area, where there's a growing demand for SEN Teaching Assistants.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with individual students, providing dedicated support to help them overcome their barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, with various experiences in supporting young people with SEN in educational settings.

A Typical Day May Include:

  • Working one-on-one or in small groups with students who have SEN & SEMH needs.
  • Providing tailored support and interventions to address individual learning challenges.
  • Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalized education plans.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN or in an educational setting is preferred.
  • A commitment to supporting the educational and emotional development of students with SEN.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students and implement strategies to promote their engagement and progress.
  • Availability for at least 5 days per week.
  • Access to personal transportation and the ability to travel within a 15-mile radius.

Working hours will align with school opening times (08:30-15:30), but days of work can be flexible, occasionally limited to mornings or afternoons. We provide you with the opportunity to manage your time around your commitments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
