Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Position - Monday to Friday (part time roles are also available)

Salary: £85 – 100 per day

Location: Rotherham (South Yorkshire)

A passionate team of educators in Rotherham are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants!

Ignite your passion for transforming young lives at a specialised institution for pupils 4-16 with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Social Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH)

In this role you'll contribute to an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment, providing SEN pupils with stability their education.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education health care plans.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Aid in classroom activities and organization.
  • Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviour to assist them inside and outside of the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Though part time roles are available, Monday to Friday availability is preferred to provide consistency.
  • Passion for supporting children with complex needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A strong understanding of autism and social, emotional, mental health needs.
  • Experience working with learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, and/or autism.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in SEN education or support work.
  • Any Additional training in supporting SEN such as Safeguarding Children Awareness, Visual supports and Structures, Team Teach, Promoting Positive Behaviour, First Aid, Read write inc. phonics training, Makaton, Sensory support training, and Restorative practice would be beneficial at this school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
