SEN Teaching Assistant - Preston

We are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our SEN school team and provide vital support to students with additional needs. If you are passionate about promoting the well-being of children in a nurturing school environment, this role is perfect for you! The schools we work with are committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. 

The school caters for young people who need extra support in their learning and development due to their additional needs. The schools may cater for children with autism, mild learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance disorder or social, emotional, mental health difficulties, which may include challening behaviour.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in a specialist provision requires you to be adaptable, reliable, resilient and have knowledge and understanding of how to provide high quality care following care plans.

Your Key Duties:

  • Providing academic support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Quickly build positive relationships with students.
  • Be comfortable with providing personal care. 
  • Support pupils with engagement and encourage pupils to be involved.
  • Support the general class teacher. 
  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities. 
  • Provide meaningful feedback on pupil attainment and profress.
  • Promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical development through the curriculum. 

Key Information: 

  • Flexible, part-time and full-time positions available.
  • No specific qualifications necessary.
  • Care/support/health background is desirable.
  • Options for temp to perm available. 
  • PAYE Contract.
  • £12.90+ per hour depending on additional duties and experience.
  • Start date ASAP.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
