Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary SEN Provision, Plymouth
Start Date: January 2025
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive team at a primary SEN provision in Plymouth. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance, creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a range of SEN, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students to build their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) and assist in assessing student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ development and support needs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents or guardians.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an SEN setting is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driving license, access to a car, and business insurance for travel between sites, if needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
