SEN Teaching Assistant, Plymouth

SEN Teaching Assistants are a crucial part of a school, ensuring children with additional needs can access learning. We are looking for multiple SEN Teaching Assistants who are patient, creative and experienced working with children or young people who have additional needs. It is vital that you are able to build a strong relationship with the student you are working with, you will be able to learn their interests and adapt the learning to suit their needs. This is an enormously rewarding role, where we have seen incredible outcomes from the dedication of some of our amazing Teaching Assistants. You can really make a change to a students life in this role!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support aligned with the child's EHCP.
  • Assist in classroom activities.
  • Enhance the child's social and academic skills.
  • Collaborate on lesson plans.
  • Maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Track and report the child's progress.
  • Engage with parents and external professionals.

Requirements:

  • SEN experience.
  • Passionate about education.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Patient and empathetic.
  • Team-oriented.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Relevant qualifications preferred.

Compliance Information: 
This role is subject to passing our compliance checks. These include (but are not limited to) obtaining an enhanced childcare DBS and references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
