Job description

We are partnering with a specialist school in the Oldham area to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants for full-time positions starting in September. This role involves supporting secondary-aged students with Autism and other learning needs, including mental health challenges, physical disabilities, and challenging behaviors. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teacher to help students complete academic tasks and develop essential social skills, such as communication, emotional regulation, and managing challenging behavior.

The school is specifically designed to meet the needs of students with additional challenges, featuring well-equipped classrooms, sensory rooms, and soft play areas. Each room maintains a high staff-to-pupil ratio to ensure effective support.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant MUST have:
- Experience supporting young people in a school or care environment within the UK
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 08:30-15:30

Additional beneficial qualifications include:
- Confidence in handling challenging behavior
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with complex autism

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
