Job Title: Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Northampton
Salary: £100 per day
Skills: Teamwork, Quick learner, Experience with children or in a care setting
Job Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Provide support and guidance to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
- Help students with SEN to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
- Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement effective teaching strategies for students with SEN
- Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, providing feedback to the lead teacher and parents/guardians
- Support students with SEN during assessments and examinations, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive social interactions among students
- Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting students with SEN
- Perform administrative tasks related to student records, documentation, and reporting
Experience:
Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily carried out in a classroom setting, with some outdoor activities and off-site visits
- May involve working with students who have challenging behaviour
- Regular interaction and collaboration with students, teaching staff, and parents/guardians
- Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday, following the school term calendar

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
