Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a OFSTED rated ‘good’ primary school in central Manchester.

This is a full-time position set to start in January 2025 and will be within the newly built SEN provision of the primary school.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

This role is paramount in ensuring all pupils, regardless of the barriers faced, receive the support they need to succeed in school.

Key responsibilities:

-          1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN including autism, learning difficulties, and ADHD.

-          Behavioural support within the classroom

-          Classroom assistance (group work)

-          Emotional support

-          Collaborative working with teachers, parents and the SENCO

About you:

-          Relevant experience working with children/ young adults

-          Strong understand of the needs of SEN pupils

-          Adaptable

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-          Patience and empathetic nature

-          Excellent ability to work well in a team and independently

-          Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
