Job description

Are you an SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new and exciting role in a Specialist provision?

Do you want to make a difference to the lives of SEN children?

One of our partnership schools in North London are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team for the new academic year.

In this role you will:

  • Prepare and support the class teacher in a range of exciting activities and lessons
  • Encourage expected behavior in and around the classroom
  • Support on potential offsite activities and outings.
  • Support and record progress of the children and liaise with other support staff.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine passion for SEN children’s teaching and learning
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality
  • Experience working with SEN children in a school or care setting
  • Personal care experience, moving and handling or BSL (desirable-not essential)

  • Two previous employment references
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service- this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel
  • Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
