Full-Time SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Launceston Area
Are you dedicated to making a positive impact on a child’s learning journey? We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Full-Time SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a primary school in the Launceston area. This role is focused on providing dedicated support to a pupil, with additional funding in place to ensure the right candidate can assist in their academic and personal development. The role could be for 1-2 students depending on needs.
About the Position:
This rewarding role will involve working closely with one or two children who have SEN, providing 1:1 support tailored to their individual needs. You will be responsible for:
- Providing 1:1 support to children with Special Educational Needs, ensuring they can engage with the curriculum
- Assisting with academic progress, including adapting learning materials and tasks
- Promoting emotional and social development and fostering independence
- Supporting the children in social situations and ensuring their well-being
This is an initially temporary position, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate.
Role Details:
- Working Hours: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Start Date: ASAP
- Pay: Competitive rates, based on qualifications, experience, and references
- Driving: A vehicle is ideally required to reach the school’s location
What We’re Looking For:
- Desirable Qualifications: TA qualification, SEN training, or Early Years qualification preferred
- Experience: Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs is essential
- DBS Check: You must hold a DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to complete a new DBS check
- Eligibility: Applicants must reside in the UK and have the right to work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
