Position: SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: January 2025
Hours: 12:30 PM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday
Location: Primary school located between Launceston and Okehampton
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team for a maternity cover position starting in January 2025. This role is based in a primary school and is pivotal in supporting a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis during afternoon sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to meet the individual learning and emotional needs of the child.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and adapt learning strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment to enhance the child's educational experience.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents/carers as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN is essential.
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting individual needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A valid DBS check registered with the Update Service is required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
