Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor for one of our partner schools in Hull. The school in an independent provision which caters for secondary aged children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and some challenging behaviour.
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant with SEMH experience on a full time, permanent basis, to start as soon as possible.
Your role as a teaching assistant / Learning Mentor is to engage with the children, support them with their work and accompany them on day trips/ excursions in and around the community. Due to having to take the children to country parks and other places in the community, the ability to drive and have your own vehicle is essential.
The needs of the pupils are severe therefore the successful Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor will have some experience with SEMH or Challenging Behaviour, personally or professionally or have a background in the care sector.
The ideal Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor would have:
• Experience of supporting SEMH/SEN or those in care
• Commitment and adaptability to the role
• A calm and patient manner
In addition, you will need to complete all necessary vetting checks including proof of identity, a DBS on the Update Service and producing two recent references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
