SLCN Support Assistant

Position: SLCN Support Assistant (Speech, Language, and Communication Support) 

Location: Darwen 

Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Pay: £12.90 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SLCN Support Assistant to join our team and help us in our mission.

Role Overview:

As an SLCN Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs. You will work closely with teachers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals to implement tailored support plans and interventions that help our students succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with speech, language, and communication needs.

-          Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and support plans.

-          Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt classroom activities and materials to support SLCN students.

-          Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.

-          Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

-          Attend and contribute to meetings with parents, teachers, and specialists as required.

-          Support students during classroom activities, playtimes, and other school functions.

Qualifications and Skills:

-          Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs.

-          Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field.

-          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

-          Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

-          Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

-          Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
