JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South East England, Surrey, Croydon

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £90 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans for SEN students
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Help students with personal care needs, if required
  • Support students in their social and emotional development
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of the UK education system and SEN policies
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Working hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
  • Work primarily takes place in a classroom setting
  • May involve assisting with outdoor activities or school trips

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
