Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom setting
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Help manage behavioural issues and provide guidance on social skills development
  • Support students with physical or learning disabilities to access the curriculum
  • Work with small groups or individual students to provide additional help as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best support for SEN students

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN support strategies and interventions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • First Aid training

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a classroom environment with children and young people with special educational needs. The working hours are full-time, and the role is based in Croydon, Surrey.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
