Exciting Opportunity: Teaching Assistant for SEN Students in Central Cambridge

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in the heart of Central Cambridge!

The Role: We are seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to support SEN students within the mainstream classroom setting and the SEN department. In this role, you will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support that helps SEN students access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist SEN students in their learning activities, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and valued.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support the student’s overall development.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of various SEN needs and effective strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a nurturing and patient approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
