Teaching Assistant with SEND Experience
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated, compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the agency and work in schools in Langley and the surrounding areas. We believe in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all children to develop and thrive, and you will play a vital role in this!
Key Responsibilities
- Individual Support: Work closely with a specific student, providing one-on-one support to assist with academic tasks, social skills, and daily activities.
- Tailored Instruction: Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the learning style and ability of the student, under the guidance of the classroom teacher and special education staff.
- Behavioural Support: Implement behaviour management strategies and provide emotional support to help the student navigate challenges.
- Collaboration: Work in partnership with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on the student's progress, helping to adjust educational strategies as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with various learning disabilities and intervention strategies is an asset.
- Certification: Any relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, Childcare) will be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
