Job Advert: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Bournemouth)

Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Start Date: Immediate
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Salary: Dependent on experience

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in a dynamic school environment. You will work closely with children who have a range of special educational needs, providing both group and 1-1 support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Special Educational Needs in small group settings and on a 1-1 basis.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans and specific strategies for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help manage and support students' behaviour, promoting their emotional well-being.
  • Assist in delivering tailored educational activities and ensure students are fully engaged.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to ensure the needs of each student are met.
  • Contribute to the progress and development of students through regular assessments and feedback.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, either in a teaching assistant or related role.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A passion for helping children achieve their best and overcome challenges.
  • A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
