Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant 

Location: Birmingham City Centre

Start Date: September 2024

Pay Rate: £85 - £95 per day

 

Are you an expereinced SEN Teaching Assistant?

Are you looking for a new role within education?

 

Then look no further!! Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a full time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a ofsted rated 'good' secondary school in Birminham City Centre.

The ideal candidate will have ample expereince as an SEN Teaching Assistant and be willing to travel around Birmingham when needed. 

The role is based with students aged 11 - 16 within a mainstream Secondary School. This school has a big SEN department and are looking for experienced / qualified SEN Teaching Assistants.

 

Job Duties:

Supporting class Senior LSA’s and Teachers with the preparation of resources to meet the personalised learning intentions of allocated students.

Providing 1:1 and group support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.

Work closely with class Teacher to report on progress using an evidence-based approach

To enable students to learn by; understanding their learning goals and targets; enable them to practice and learn new skills and challenge them to be as independent as possible

To be involved in the provision of all aspects of support necessary that will ensure the students wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning.

To understand and fully implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.

A SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification is desired but not necessary.

A degree in Education or a simular subject.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting would be ideal but not necessary.

Knowledge and Skills:

Initiative to take proactive actions

Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently

Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
