Job Advertisement: SEN Teaching Assistant with EYFS Experience

Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Accrington
Contract Type: Part-time
Start Date: 6th January 2025
Salary: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs? Do you have experience working in an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) setting? If so, we want you to join our dedicated and inclusive team!

About Us:
At our school, we pride ourselves on creating a nurturing and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Our EYFS department is a vibrant and welcoming space, and we are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support our children with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

-          Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with special educational needs in the EYFS setting.

-          Support the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities tailored to individual needs.

-          Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all children.

-          Assist with personal care needs, as required, ensuring children’s dignity and comfort.

-          Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor and track children’s progress.

-          Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).

-          Help with the integration of children into classroom activities and school life.

-          Assist with the preparation of resources and maintaining a safe and supportive learning space.

About You:

-          Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, with a focus on SEN support, ideally in an EYFS setting.

-          A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.

-          Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.

-          Ability to support children with a range of SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, and physical disabilities.

-          A proactive and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour management.

-          Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

-          A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
