Teachers and Teaching Assistants
A wonderful school in Littlehampton are looking for energetic, confident, and passionate teachers and teaching assistants who are excited by the prospect of changing the lives of vulnerable children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This school aims to build the children’s confidence, self-esteem and celebrate their creativity and for a lot of the children at this school, they communicate in a range of ways that can be expressed and celebrated through their learning. All of this can be encouraged with the support form passionate and caring teachers and teaching assistants.
This school works and supports vulnerable children who have social, emotional and mental health needs, who have faced complex trauma, difficulties at school and, have often missed periods of education. All children have an EHCP and follow individualised learning plans and strategies. The children are working at different levels and follow an adapted curriculum that matches to the individual student’s needs that is personally challenging and exciting for them. The classes learn in groups of 6-10, allowing the teacher to really build strong relationships with their students and allows time for individualised support.
Requirements-
Due to the nature of the children’s SEMH needs and history, they often display challenging behaviour and therefore need a teacher who will show them unconditional support and love, that can remind them that it is okay to feel big emotions and help children re-build a love of learning and trust in others.
Qualified Teacher Status is desirable but not essential for teaching roles.
Experience teaching secondary aged students.
Experience teaching the secondary Curriculum
Experience or a passion for working with children with additional needs.
Experience or a passion for managing challenging behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
