Job Title: KS2 Teacher (SEN) – Full-Time 

Location: Shillingstone, Blandford Forum, Dorset

Start Date: January

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our team, with an ASAP start. This role offers both full-time and part-time options, providing flexibility to suit your availability. As a Primary Teacher in this SEN setting, you will be instrumental in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to the unique needs of students with Autism and challenging behaviour. There are 4-6 pupils per class so you will be working in very small classes. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across the Primay curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of students with Autism and SEMH.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel supported and valued.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, ensuring that individual education plans (IEPs) are effectively implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with SEN specialists, teaching assistants, and other staff to support student development.
  • Employ a variety of teaching strategies to address the diverse needs of students and manage classroom behavior in a constructive manner.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within Primary, ideally within an SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • A thorough understanding of Autism and Challenging behaviour and their impact on learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for working with children with special educational needs.
