Position Overview:
As an SEN Teacher, you will work with students who have a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, or behavioral needs. You will be responsible for creating tailored educational plans, adapting teaching methods, and offering a supportive environment to ensure each student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver personalized lessons that meet the specific needs of each student with SEN.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to track student progress.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external specialists to ensure a coordinated approach.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that fosters a sense of belonging.
- Manage challenging behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, caregivers, and external agencies regarding student progress.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest SEN strategies and best practices in education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
- Strong understanding of various SEN conditions and strategies to support learning.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning needs.
