Position: SEN Teacher (Qualified Teacher Status required)
Location: Kensington & Chelsea (W10)
Specialisms Required: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Salary: Pay to scale, in line with experience and qualifications
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (potential for a permanent contract after 12 weeks)

Teaching Personnel are working with a highly regarded special educational needs (SEN) school in Kensington & Chelsea is looking for passionate, dedicated SEN Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join their vibrant and supportive teaching team. This role is ideal for educators experienced in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Responsibilities:
As an SEN Teacher at this school, your role will involve:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Designing and implementing well-structured, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEN, with a focus on developing both academic and life skills.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Working with students to help them achieve their specific educational and behavioral goals, regularly assessing and adjusting these plans in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Classroom Management: Creating a positive, structured classroom environment that fosters student engagement and respects individual learning styles. You will employ a range of behavior management strategies to ensure students feel safe, supported, and motivated.
- Collaboration with Support Staff: Partnering closely with classroom assistants and therapists to ensure a cohesive approach that addresses each student’s unique needs holistically.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Consistently assessing and monitoring students’ progress, maintaining up-to-date records, and providing regular feedback to parents and senior staff.
- Professional Development: Committing to continuous improvement and participating in ongoing training opportunities provided by the school, particularly in new techniques and methods for supporting children with ASC, ADHD, and MLD.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Recognized qualification required to teach in the UK.
- Experience in SEN Settings: Proven experience working with students with ASC, ADHD, and MLD, with an understanding of their unique learning and behavioral challenges.
- Skills in Differentiation & Adaptation: Ability to adjust teaching approaches to meet a wide range of needs, employing visual, sensory, and interactive methods.
- Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with students, parents, and other professionals to build a strong support network and foster collaborative relationships.
- Classroom Management & Behavior Support Skills: Proficient in using positive reinforcement, de-escalation strategies, and other techniques to support a safe, constructive learning environment.
- Empathy & Patience: Demonstrates an understanding and compassion for the challenges students with SEN face, along with the resilience and patience required to make a meaningful difference.
