Position: SEN Learning Assistant
Have you always wanted to work in a school but haven't got any expereince of working in a classroom? As long as you have some experience of working alongside children, you can qualify for this role. We welcome candidates from various backgrounds which include but are not limited to: SMSAs, sports coaches, psychology graduates, youth workers, childminders etc.
Role Overview: Working in a primary school located in North Somerset on a full time basis. This is an "outstanding" rated schol that is looking for an individual to support a child with autism.
- Weekly Hours: (Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm)
- Key Responsibilities:
- You will be supporting a child in year 3 with an autism diagnosis,
- Working with the class teacher to integrate them back into the classroom,
- Develop a positive relationship and respond appropriately to the children's needs,
- Assist the whole class in integrating and participating in class activities.
- Simplify tasks to ensure accessibility.
- Support the child during lunchtime.
Candidate Requirements:
- Skills and Experience:
- Must demonstrate relevant skills with confidence.
- Recent experience working with children.
- Experience in a primary school setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience with children with SEND is a plus but not required.
- Ability to use initiative and proactively handle tasks.

To join Teaching Personnel and complete our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS registered with the Update Service. We offer full assistance for a new check, costing £38, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
Upon a succesful 20 week probation period, exceptional candidates often go onto contract with the school (terms and conditions apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
