SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-Time in Wilmslow
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Wilmslow. This full-time role starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent based on performance.
Role Overview:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them navigate the school environment and succeed academically. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working one-on-one and in small groups with students who have SEMH needs, providing tailored support to help them engage in learning.
- Building positive relationships with students to foster their confidence, self-esteem, and motivation in school.
- Assisting in classroom settings, adapting teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of SEMH students.
- Helping to manage challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborating with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted interventions.
- Monitoring students’ progress and providing feedback to staff and parents, helping to refine support strategies when necessary.
- Supporting students in developing coping mechanisms and resilience to overcome social, emotional, and academic challenges.
- Encouraging a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Key Details:
- Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week, depending on experience.
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday.
- Start Date: October, running through to the end of the academic year.
- The role has the possibility of becoming permanent depending on performance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
