I am working with an SEMH school in Southampton who are looking for 2X Teaching Assistants.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both the teaching staff and the students. You will help create a calm, supportive classroom environment where students can flourish. Working closely with teachers, you will assist with lesson preparation, provide one-to-one support for students who need it, and ensure that every young person gets the attention they need to succeed.

What You'll Do:

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education tailored to students’ individual needs

• Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to enhance their learning experience

• Assist with classroom management and ensure the learning environment is engaging and positive

• Help students develop their social and emotional skills both in class and in the community

• Provide support during school activities, including class trips and enrichment programmes

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external professionals to implement individual learning plans and interventions

About You

  •  Experience working with children with SEMH and/or other needs is preferrable
  •  A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude with a passion for helping students succeed
  •  Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  •  A willingness to adapt and support students with varying needs and abilities
  •  The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
