Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Poole

Teaching Personnel, the UK’s market-leading education recruitment agency, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a specialist school in Poole. This full-time role involves working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, starting in early November.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their emotions.
- Assist the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive behaviour and academic progress.
- Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, focusing on individual learning needs.
- Help implement behaviour management strategies and social development plans.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to support student well-being and growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs is preferred but not essential.
- A caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in their learning.
- A desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
