SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel is working with a school in Manchester to find a full-time teaching assistant to support a small number of students who are not currently within mainstream schooling and have different social, emotional and mental health needs.
The role will consist of working with students individually within a classroom to support their work and their behaviour. You will work alongside teachers and other support staff to provide a positive and inclusive learning environment that is constantly being adapted to suit different needs.
You should be able to provide meaningful feedback that aids development and other teaching staff.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Have experience working with students with additional needs
- Have previous experience working in schools
- Be confident in controlling possibly difficult behaviour
- Understand the different needs that students may have and the different approaches that you may have to take to helping learning
As the school is based at two different sites, you should also hold a full driving license and have access to a car.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
