We’re seeking a resilient, optimistic leader who can support children who have challenging behavioural and emotional needs. The role is for a teaching assistant, but requires you to be an influential role model for the students who struggle to navigate their everyday emotions and require the correct guidance and boundaries. The school is a SEMH provision in the South of Bristol and the children are aged 5 – 16.
The school is unique as their provision allows the children to get involved in life skills such as cooking and they even taught mechanics as they have their own car garage in the school!
About the role:
- The role begins in July 2024 and is available for part time and full time – Monday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm) term time only
- Small class sizes of 8-10 pupils, creating strong relationships with the students
- £84 - £95/ day depending on experience
- On site parking and easy bus routes
The Academy takes a tailored approach supporting the individual pupil in the way that benefits them the most, treating every child as an individual and not a number. They have a think out the box approach and require their staff to be flexible in their style of teaching and support.
The successful Teaching Assistant will:
- Have the drive to make a difference to these pupils’ day
- Be confidence to work with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours and struggle to regulate their emotions
- Be adaptable and resilient in challenging environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
