Job description

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working with a reputable all-boys SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Horsham, currently seeking full-time Teaching Assistants. This is a rewarding role for individuals who can promote positive behaviour and provide support across a range of subjects and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong, professional relationships with pupils to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Assist in various subjects and activities, offering tailored support to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a nurturing and safe environment that helps students with SEMH needs grow academically and personally.
  • Encourage and guide pupils in developing life skills and social skills.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is advantageous.
  • A patient, resilient, and compassionate attitude.
  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage positively with students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
