Position: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in Liverpool. You will work with students across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4, providing tailored lessons that help them overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, academic abilities, and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Use creative teaching strategies and resources to re-engage students with their learning.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
- Manage challenging behaviors effectively using de-escalation techniques and restorative approaches.
- Promote social and emotional well-being, helping students build resilience and self-esteem.
What We Are Looking For:
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or in alternative provision settings.
- Skills: Strong communication, behavior management, and interpersonal skills.
- Resilience: Ability to remain calm and empathetic when faced with challenging situations.
- Passion: A commitment to making a difference in the lives of students with SEMH needs.
- Flexibility: Adaptability to work with students of different ages and abilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
