SEMH Teacher (Primary) – Alternative Provision

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have the skills and dedication to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a compassionate and motivated SEMH Teacher to join our dynamic team in an Alternative Provision setting, where you can truly transform lives.


The provision is a supportive and nurturing environment that provides tailored educational opportunities for Primary and Secondary aged students who need a different approach to learning. Our aim is to help each student reach their full potential, both academically and personally, by providing a bespoke curriculum and holistic support.

The Role:


As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of each student.
  • Develop positive, trusting relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Implement behavior management to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

About You:
We are seeking someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in working with students with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students in an alternative provision setting.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Can inspire and motivate students who may have experienced barriers to learning.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
