Sports coach/ SEMH -TA

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a secondary specialist provision in Nelson (BB9).  This provision supports children who predominantly struggle with their social, emotional, mental health (SEMH). The headteacher is keen to welcome someone who is willing to bring a vibrant and positive atmosphere, who will create and maintain positive relationships with the children. The successful candidate doesn’t need to have a teaching qualification, but a keen drive-in wanting children to succeed.

As a Sports Coach within a specialist provision, you will be responsible for:

  • Encouraging children to engage with their learning
  • Using sports as a tool to encourage pupils
  • Build positive relationships with pupils
  • Praise good behaviour
  • Providing strategies for children to cope with difficult situations

Initially this post will be temporary from September 2024, with the view to become permanent. The pay scale for this post ranges from £12.90 - £13.50 dependent on experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
