Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Condition and associated difficulties?
I am currently recruiting for a special educational needs suport worker in mainstream priamry schools across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast.
The school is passionate about helping students aged 7-11 gain valuable life skills, qualifications, and confidence as they move towards greater independence.
We are seeking committed Residential Support Workers to join the team, primarily working in our remainstream primary schools to provide essential guidance, support, and encouragement to our young people.
You will play a key role in a variety of settings, including the classroom, during off-site activities, and in everyday residential life.
By offering physical and emotional support, you’ll help the students thrive and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff, creating a stable, happy, and nurturing environment.
- Support the personal, emotional, and physical well-being of our students, assisting them in their day-to-day routines, which may include helping with personal hygiene and administering ‘when required’ medication.
- Encourage and guide students to develop important life skills, manage their own behaviour, and work towards greater independence.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students is the top priority at all times.
- Participate in residential, educational, and leisure activities, fostering a supportive and engaging atmosphere.
- Complete daily tasks, including domestic duties, and ensure that the living environment is safe, clean, and enjoyable.
- Keep accurate records and reports, attend meetings, and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Promote equality and respect, acknowledging individual differences and safeguarding students from any form of harm or abuse.

- An understanding of how young people with autism develop and learn.
- The ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and follow policies and procedures.
- A flexible attitude towards work, including the ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A willingness to participate in training, develop professionally, and uphold the highest standards of care.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
