Exciting Opportunity for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant with Expertise in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant, specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), to join a well-regarded primary school in Woolton (L25). Starting in January 2025, this long-term position will span two terms, with the school seeking a dedicated support staff member to provide tailored assistance to a reception class pupil as part of the new school intake, offering both academic and social support.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with SEN pupils and possess a strong understanding of effective de-escalation techniques. The specific child follows an individual education plan, tailored to their SEMH needs, which reflects the school’s commitment to regular updates and progress reviews.
This role operates from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm and offers the opportunity to become part of a highly respected school community. As the successful candidate, you will receive dedicated support from the SENCO, including additional training and professional development to ensure you can provide the best possible support for the child. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
